Sally Tyrie’s mixed media Drawings and Paintings explore ideas to do with ‘time, transition, absence and presence’.
Whilst starting points to her work vary, themes and directions have been influenced by a passion for Natural History and the environment in particular.
Process and media play a key role in her work and she often employs the use of unconventional materials as a way of adding metaphor and meaning.
Initially studying Painting on a Fine Art Degree course at Nottingham Trent University, Sally’s passion for mixed media, and printmaking, in particular, developed whilst she was studying for her MA at the University of Hertfordshire where she graduated in 2008.
Sally works from her studio at Waterhall Farm in Whitwell, Hertfordshire.
